Dust off those dancing shoes, music festival season is once again upon us! If you are anything like me, my favorite things about summer festivals (other than the lineup, of course!) are the fashion and photos. Many of you may be heading to Coachella this weekend and here are some tips to help you capture those Coachella-girl memories.

Tip 1- Take Photos Along the Way!Coachella Valley is a beautiful place with great landscapes and cool roadside attractions. Why not take advantage of them to show off your Coachella fashion?! Make a pitstop at the wind turbines off the 10 for an awesome background or have a quick fashion shoot at your Airbnb which is sure to have great desert decor! Just make sure to snap along the way to remember the journey.

Tip 2- Camera Do's and Don'tsUnfortunately, most festivals do not allow professional cameras on the grounds without a press pass. So beware when going through security! Instead, try something fun and pack a few disposable cameras in your bag alongside your smartphone or Instax camera! They will give you the cool #TBT look without applying a filter!

Tip 3- Getting the Shot

When you're using cameras that you're not able to control settings such as shutter speed and aperture it's even more important to watch your lighting. Keep your subject in direct light to keep shadows to a minimum, especially on the face. Different times of day will give you different kinds of light. High noon will have high contrast but closer to sunset you will get a soft glow of the many different colors of the desert sky.Want to make your friend look like the tall flower crown goddess she is? Get close to the ground and shoot up! Anytime you are shooting, it's important to pay attention to your background. Does it help tell the story? Do you want to keep it simple with a pop of color and focus on the outfit? As much as we all support dancing it out, you may not want that guys' arm coming from behind your friends head! Jamie Chung, Coachella, Fashion, Jana Williams, Coachella Valley, festival, desert
