Southern California Fashion Photographer Jana Williams Photography
Being a Southern California Fashion Photographer, kind of amazing!Don’t get me wrong, the thrill of being inspired by the Parisian lifestyle and the city of lights in all its romance was amazing. But working in your own ‘backyard’, also amazing! This editorial fashion shoot was all about playing with light, texture, and poses. At the same time, I wanted it to have a vibe and an attitude all its own! We really played around with the versatility of the different pieces in this shoot. For example, taking something like a sweater dress and making it sexy by adding to-die-for knee-high boots! Or pairing big bold and gold statement pieces with signature black pieces (that you probably already have in your closet!) is what it’s all about. I also focused on using the light and shadows in our space to elevate the model's silhouette and play with the overall tone of the shoot. And, y’all, the settings that I use for fashion are a little bit different than the settings I use for shooting weddings! I like to close my aperture to around 5.6 for editorial fashion photography.Want to check out some more fashion-forward content while you're here?
